When starting with an empty .gajim directory, gajim will fail if
the /home directory is mounted with NFS.

If I create a directory on a local disk, say in /tmp/gajim and ln
-s /tmp/gajim ~/.gajim it will run successfully.
Sounds like there is something with the hsitory database and NFS mounts.
