I seem to have a similar issue but a little different. My dhcp configuration works properly, but when I switch to static ip the dns is set incorrectly and static ip is not working. This causes an issue with my pc and few server in our network.
Currently the fix in my pc is to add " dns-nameservers 192.168.1.xx " This was not the case with sarge,etch but after upgrade to lenny proper configuration cannot be achieved automatically without modifying the /etc/network/interfaces by adding the dsn-nameserver. Is there a solution for this?
