I had problems reproducing this, but I know of others who had problems with accents in file names. The problem is most probably that Emacs does not know the correct encoding of the file names. If the value of `emms-source-file-directory-tree-function' is `emms-source-file-directory-tree-internal' in your setup (the default), could you verify that `file-name-coding-system' is set to the correct coding system for your file names?
