I can confirm this bug. It has to do with GTK library.

I use a (nasty) workaround with an older version of GTK only for gimv.

/usr/bin$ cat gimv
#!/bin/sh
LD_PRELOAD=/home/ps/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 exec gimv.orig

file /home/fritz/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
/home/fritz/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: symbolic link to 
`libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0.1200.9'
