If the docs say
-depth <value>
depth of the image
This is the number of bits in a color sample within a pixel. The
only acceptable values are 8 or 16.
Then one should get an error when using
$ convert -depth 1 -trim ribcage.ps ribcage.png
instead of just doing something else.
