Hi Václav,where does this "30 second" timeout come from? I see the default client timeout is set to 300 in tunable.h, and that is plenty.
Also, what can fetchmail do about slow or prematurely disconnecting MTAs? Retry later. If Exim is too slow accepting messages, use Postfix.
