Package: ifupdown Version: 0.6.7 Severity: normal I'm currently using debian-sparc (unstable). If the system brings up my network interface it request my ISP for an IP through DHCP. This works fine. However after the first refresh period ends the system doesn't refresh it's IP, and looses the connection.
I then have to use dhclient manually to refresh the IP, and thereafter it keeps working like a charm. The ip gets refreshed everytime. After a reboot, or ifdown/ifup the same error occurs again. Before using debian-sparc I used an i386 machine, which didn't experience this problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: sparc (sparc64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages ifupdown depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.51 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii net-tools 1.60-13 The NET-3 networking toolkit ifupdown recommends no packages. -- debconf information: ifupdown/convert-interfaces: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
