There was a bug in xorg-server 1.5 which caused Xvfb to go into an infinite loop on regen if libgl1-mesa-dri was not installed. I fixed that upstream before 1.6, so you should be fine without libgl1-mesa-dri, if your tests don't use GLX. (the references to this bug in the xorg-server changelog are: * Fix infinite loop on server reset when swrast_dri.so is missing.
