Hi Wouter, 

Is this for an ext4 or an ext3 filesystem?  If it is an ext4
filesystem it's likely to be a problem that can be solved with these
patches:

If you don't feel like building your own version of e2fsprogs, could
you send me the output of dumpe2fs, and also if you are willing a
compressed raw e2image file.  See the "RAW IMAGE FILES" section of the
e2image man page for more details.
