Hi all, this is my quick and dirty and very augly workaround:
1. Remove (or backup) /etc/init.d/hal 2. install hal using dpkg --force-overwrite -i hal_the-actual-version.deb 3. Add the file "/etc/init.d/hal" manually from the package This worked well for me, but yes, this is crazy! Cheers Hans
