Because I am the udev maintainer and it's up to you to persuade me that
there is something wrong in my package. Please notice how I do not

Sorry. While I am aware of what an analog joysting is and even used one
in about 1992, I live in 2009 and do not have such an interface on my
systems.

I see old discussions among clueless people, try to provide a correct
explanation about how to make your joystick work instead.

If they are not autoloaded then it's a kernel bug.
You are supposed to know this since it's explained in README.Debian.
Are they autoloaded or not?

The same rules are in the Debian package. Guess where knoppix gets most
of their packages?
