I am having the same problem. I run an up to date squeeze box. I update every day. After the update earlier this week. Something broke my sound. snd-intel8x0 started not loading at boot time. If I modprobe it then it will load. At the same time, my usb mouse became dead when I get into gnome at each startup. If I unplug and plug the mouse then it starts working. I also notice that ath5k is not loading at boot.
Is there a resolution for the problem? Why does the response from Marco refer to etch when the bug report says squeeze/sid and refer to udev 0.1.25-7 which is the one in squeeze not etch? It it is not a udev problem, where is the problem?
