This is a risky decision at this time imo - at least if we don't want to use a new source package name (personally i have nothing against that). There is no official timeline for the final release and the past showed that mozillamessaging releases can take ages. Also building against system xulrunner will not be supported by tbird 3 (unfortunately). Still I think we all hope that we will be able to ship tbird 3 in next release. Anyway, I am thinking about making an icedove package available based on the tbird 3.0 packages we maintain in ubuntu. It's basically just the rebranding, which should be rather simple. Volunteers for that rebranding effort welcome.
