Package: translate-toolkit
Version: 1.3.0-4
Severity: normal

Hi all,
while using po2html to generate a French translation of a site, I noticed that
duplicated strings into the template are translated only the first time, while
the other instances are not translated. When I generated the pot files using
the html2po command I specified the merge behaviour in the case of duplicated
strings (see the generate-pot script in the attached file).

I enclosed a tar.gz file containing the files that triggers this problem:
inside there are 2 scripts:
* generate-pot is the script used to generate the pot files;
* generate-site-fr is the script used to regenerate the html file from html
templates and the po files.
In order to trigger the problem, it will suffice to call the second script that
will generate a directory called site-fr in which a news.html file is generated
according to the French language; in this file there are 2 instances of the
string "March 16, 2009", the former at the beginning, in a <h2> tag, the latter
at the end in a <span> tag; in the French version of the news.html file, only
the former instance is translated, while the latter is not.
