I'd like to have the XML part of it available as well. This requires having libdbxml first and then bindings like the Ruby bindings on top of it. Both the C implementation and the Ruby bindings seem to have licences similar to their relational counterparts. It would be nice if somebody could take this up and coordinate associated packaging efforts like maybe a libdbxml-java package (Java wrappers are included in the dbxml upstream sources, the relational counterpart is shipped by Debian as libdb-je-java).
