Accessing ? ... well the thing is that apparently some apps try to access it... but I really can't tell exactly when/why (unless debugging dbus maybe ?) :( In the particular case of issueing "tracker-status"... it may respond : "not started" instead of starting it, I think. I tend to think that such a behaviour shouldn't be done in the background without any user feedback (considering the indexing started by trackerd will overload the system eventually... cf. my other reports), and surely not unless the user has a mean to stop it. IMHO, whenever no tracker applet is there (in the tray) to help pause it and so on, it shouldn't be started and requiring clients should receive a NACK. Another option would be that trackerd only spawns tracker-index whenever the applet is available in the tray, so that trackerd can ACK queries to clients, even though it may respond with "index not yet completed" errors maybe ?
