Ok, here are the results: | $ dpkg -L galeon-common | grep schemas | /usr/share/gconf/schemas | /usr/share/gconf/schemas/galeon.schemas | $ dpkg-reconfigure galeon-common The last command took a few seconds, but did not return any output. I should probably say that I'm not using a plain gnome setup. I use sawfish as window-manager, and then selected parts of gnome. I start up gnome-settings-daemon manually from ~/.Xsession.
