src/lib/sockets.cpp

in function (and probably others):
gpointer Socket::dns_thread(gpointer data)

I found that there is (was) the same problem in others sources with Linux 2.6.x and they work correctly compiled with 2.4.x (if I don't mistake 2.4 use signal and 2.6 use mutex)

I think that here must be used mutex functions (you can see that there are some comments on win32 part) ... the problem is that I don't know nearly nothing about glib, mutex & C., ... Probably the problem is already know by stardict author and he have try to solve it before stop supporting it

If you have a old Debian with Linux 2.4 you can prove if this theory is correct or not.
