They say upstream that ticket #1902 (this bug: #518792) is a duplicate of ticket #1957 which is solved. This seems like a misunderstood.
See, in upstream ticket #1957 it says: "Use the XDG download directory for downloads instead of made-up unusally nonesixtent ~/Downloads (fall back to it in case there's no XDG user dir configuration)." That's what they fixed. I think they thought we were talking about XDG download folder...
