Package: libsane Version: 1.0.19-26 Severity: normal My HP PSC 1610 is only recognized for user root, with a regular user it is not recognized. Under user root the scanner works perfectly, I can use it with xsane without problem. I maintain my system up to date with respect to testing very often (every two or three days) but I use my scanner not so often so I am not able to say when this problem arrive, I can say about one month ago my scanner was usable for a regular user.
I found if I add the following rule in /etc/udev/z60_libsane.rules the problem is solved but I don't know why and if it is completly solved : # USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [HP], product=0x4811 [PSC 1600 series]) SYSFS{idVendor}=="03f0", SYSFS{idProduct}=="4811", MODE="0664", GROUP="scanner", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes" -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libsane depends on: ii adduser 3.110 add and remove users and groups ii libavahi-client3 0.6.24-2 Avahi client library ii libavahi-common3 0.6.24-2 Avahi common library ii libc6 2.9-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libexif12 0.6.16-2.1 library to parse EXIF files ii libgphoto2-2 2.4.4-1 gphoto2 digital camera library ii libgphoto2-port0 2.4.4-1 gphoto2 digital camera port librar ii libieee1284-3 0.2.11-5 cross-platform library for paralle ii libjpeg62 6b-14 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libsane-extras 1.0.19.15 API library for scanners -- extra ii libtiff4 3.8.2-11 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-13 userspace USB programming library ii makedev 2.3.1-88 creates device files in /dev ii udev 0.125-7 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo Versions of packages libsane recommends: ii avahi-daemon 0.6.24-2 Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD daemon ii sane-utils 1.0.19-26 API library for scanners -- utilit Versions of packages libsane suggests: ii hplip 3.9.2-3 HP Linux Printing and Imaging Syst pn hpoj <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
