severity: critical thanks I'm experiencing the same problem. My system won't boot at all anymore, spawning obscure file system errors that made me very nervous. (I disabled swap for now to be able to boot into my machine.)
It looks like Ubuntu suffered from the same issue, and also has a patch available: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=521469 — Wouter
