This bug is old, and applies to a version of facter not in Debian stable, testing or unstable. It is not "fixed", but rather "gone". The fact that had the bug is no longer in the facter package. In facter 1.5.1, there is no debianversion fact. The generic facts "operatingsystem" and "operatingsystemrelease" are used instead. The "operatingsystemrelease" is not affected by this bug, since it reads /etc/debian_version (As the patch suggested) # $ facter debianversion # $ facter operatingsystem # Debian # $ facter operatingsystemrelease # 5.0 -- Stig Sandbeck Mathisen
