This is quite strange, since I cannot find any other reference of caml_sync neither in omake sources, nor in ocaml (3.10.2, with which it used to compile, or 3.11.0). I think this external is not used at all. omake compiles successfully after commenting it in src/exec/omake_exec.ml. BTW, it seems to be fixed upstream (the same way): http://lists.metaprl.org/pipermail/omake/2009-February/002058.html I guess ocaml 3.11.0 is less smart at detecting unused externals (...or is it a new feature? :) Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that there will be a new upstream version released soon.
