Bugs #317881, #382213, and #498948 all seem to refer to the same goal of having fc-cache run only once during a dpkg or apt session.
From Josselin's post a while back on debian-devel, it looks like this is already taken care of: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2008/05/msg00805.html If this is correct, perhaps these bugs can be merged and closed? Thanks for maintaining fontconfig in debian! Regards, --dkg
