Package: openafs-modules-source Version: 1.4.8.dfsg1-3 Severity: important OpenAFS's module build system establishes MODLOAD-*/{h,netinet,sys} as symlinks to what it understands to be the relevant kernel's .../include/linux directory to support #include directives that for historical and portability reasons specify different directory names. As of Debian's official 2.6.29-1 kernel packaging, that no longer works, as the target directory contains only those few headers that actually embed flavor-specific information; previous versions supplemented them with symlinks to the remaining headers (in a parallel -common tree), but the bug report (#521515) requesting the symlinks' reinstatement met with little sympathy, so OpenAFS will presumably have to adapt.
As outlined in #521515, the best way forward for OpenAFS is probably to arrange for h, netinet, and sys to be actual directories containing appropriate forwarding headers. Determining the set of paths requiring such treatment is not entirely trivial, but it should be possible for make_kbuild_makefile.pl to do so by crawling the tree. I don't have time to implement the necessary logic at the moment, though; please stay tuned. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openafs-modules-source depends on: ii bison 1:2.4.1.dfsg-1 A parser generator that is compati ii debhelper 7.2.7 helper programs for debian/rules ii flex 2.5.35-6 A fast lexical analyzer generator. ii kernel-package 11.017 A utility for building Linux kerne ii module-assistant 0.11.0 tool to make module package creati openafs-modules-source recommends no packages. openafs-modules-source suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
