Package: sox Version: 14.2.0-1 Severity: normal Sox no longer plays the iTunes DRM-free mpeg4 AAC music audio files. It works fine in Lenny.
The error message I get is: # play music/Haddaway-What_Is_Love.m4a play formats: no handler for detected file type `audio/mp4' If necessary, I can send a sample file for testing, but the shortest such file I have is 6.7MB and doesn't compress well. Let me know if I can do anything to help debugging. This has been broken about a month, but I was hoping it was a temporary issue before reporting it. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages sox depends on: ii libc6 2.9-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libltdl3 1.5.26-4 A system independent dlopen wrappe ii libmagic1 4.26-2 File type determination library us ii libpng12-0 1.2.35-1 PNG library - runtime ii libsamplerate0 0.1.7-2 audio rate conversion library ii libsox-fmt-alsa 14.2.0-1 SoX alsa format I/O library ii libsox-fmt-ao 14.2.0-1 SoX Libao format I/O library ii libsox-fmt-base 14.2.0-1 Minimal set of SoX format librarie ii libsox-fmt-oss 14.2.0-1 SoX OSS format I/O library ii libsox1 14.2.0-1 SoX library of audio effects and p ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime sox recommends no packages.
