looking at the source of libgl-mesa-glx, it appears this could be fixed by playing with the hard-coded lib directory in the files in mesa/configs. I'm not sure of the correct way to go about this however. Would ia32-libs need to contain a patched libgl-mesa-glx package, or should the package itself be patched to use lib32 when appropriate?
