I have not checked that specifically but Open MPI 1.3 was not binary compatible with 1.2 which resulted in the current breakage and RC bugs, so there will be a (faked) SONAME change in the next upload. Upstream never supported binary compatibility but will do so starting from 1.3.2. Best regards Manuel
