I am unable to reproduce the problem with your version of the configuration file. However, looking more closely at your initial bug report, it seems that you are using an amd64 kernel on an i386 installation. There is a know kernel bug (#518921) for the version you are using, that *may* explain your problem. However it only occurs if you have libc6-i686 *not* installed. Do you know if this package was installed or not when you had the problem (hint: you could have a look at /var/log/dpkg.*)?
