Package: fakechroot
Version: 0.6+1.2.4
Severity: wishlist

since some features were not implemented until more recent versions of
fakechroot, it would be useful to set an environment variable, such as
FAKECHROOT_VERSION, so it is possible to know when a workaround is
needed or not.

for example, some of my code works around debian bug 312409 by calling
run-parts by calling with the full path rather than the chrooted path,
but there is no way to know if it is running in a newer fakechroot
environment that doesn't require this ugly, hackish workaround...

live well,
