Package: ntp-server Version: 1:4.2.0a+stable-2 Followup-For: Bug #268122
I also had the similar problem with ntpd + grsec : kernel: grsec: From 192.168.1.54: signal 11 sent to /usr/sbin/ntpd[ntpd:29331] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0, parent /sbin/init[init:1] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0 but on my case, the server does exist (host ntp.univ-lyon1.fr) removing the entry from my conf file solved the problem appart from that I couldn't find the reason why it crashed so, here is the backtrace (I can also provide a trace) : # gdb -c core /usr/sbin/ntpd GNU gdb 6.3-debian Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
