Hi, Put a distribution specific logo here is a common way to obtain certain recognition value, nowadays, in many other distributions. But I wonder if Debian should follow the tradition definitely, given the good long history that the official appearance is unchanged. An obvious fact is that the new start-here logo looks not in tune with other default appearance settings of gnome packaged by Debian. So, I suggest to keep the official start-here logo and provide Debian-specific one as an option or even another separate theme package.
