It appears you're running an old version of the prism54 driver.
Unfortunately the in-kernel driver (v1.2) doesn't work with hostapd, you'll
need an SVN snapshot from prism54.org. The code is there from 2004-11-05, I
don't know why it hasn't merged yet. You'll also need to enable the "Add WPA
Access Point Support through hostapd" (CONFIG_PRISM54_HOSTAPD) configuration
option.
But ofcourse, this should be documented in the package, thanks for bringing
it up - I'm not a prism54 user and I haven't noticed.
