Happens on newly created files as well as previously existing files (new files created with standard options, just clicking "forward" no the new account hierarchy setup). Opening or closing an account category does not crashes.
When run with --nofile --debug --extra options, the following line is recorded on /var/log/kern.log and /var/log/messages: gnucash-bin[16540]: segfault at 10 ip b7dd3db5 sp bfd59c60 error 6 in libgncmod-register-gnome.so[b7db8000+1f000] I've attached a trace too.
