Would be nice to have a libvdpau1 and libvdpau-dev packages. The main problem, is if you want to link dynamically against libvdpau, you need to build-depends on nvidia-glx-dev but this package depends on nvidia-glx (and now the main problem) who dpends on nvidia-kernel-180.29, who doesn't exist in Debian, only legacy kernel module are packaged.
