Package: serendipity Version: 1.3.1-1 Severity: important Hi,
So, this is a fresh install of serendipity on a Lenny machine, and uses postgresql as a backend. After initial install, log in as admin, change password, set details. Log out, log back as admin. Create user, fill in details. Hit create. The new user replaces the admin user, and, if the new user is not an admin, the ability to manage serendipity through the web front-end is lost. I can attest to the fact that nothing new is inserted into the table s9y_authors when I create a new user; the single record is overwritten. This is a fairly important bug, but, given the maturity of the package, it seems extraordinary that a general bug of this magnitude would have remained undetected so far. I purged and reinstalled, and the same behaviour happened the second time as well, so I can reproduce this. I am assuming some combination of the dependencies that are on my system are triggering this, but I'll be happy to assist in debugging this. manoj -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=iso_8859_1 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages serendipity depends on: ii apache2 2.2.9-10+lenny2 Apache HTTP Server metapackage ii apache2-mpm-prefor 2.2.9-10+lenny2 Apache HTTP Server - traditional n ii dbconfig-common 1.8.39 common framework for packaging dat ii debconf [debconf-2 1.5.24 Debian configuration management sy ii libapache2-mod-php 5.2.6.dfsg.1-1+lenny2 server-side, HTML-embedded scripti ii php-cache-lite 1.7.4-1 Fast and lite data cache system ii php-http-request 1.4.2-1 provides an easy way to perform HT ii php-net-checkip 1.2.1-2 check the syntax of IPv4 addresses ii php-net-socket 1.0.8-2 PHP PEAR Network Socket Interface ii php-net-url 1.0.15-2 easy parsing of Urls ii php-pear 5.2.6.dfsg.1-1+lenny2 PEAR - PHP Extension and Applicati ii php5-pgsql 5.2.6.dfsg.1-1+lenny2 PostgreSQL module for php5 ii postgresql-client 8.3.6-1 front-end programs for PostgreSQL ii postgresql-client- 8.3.6-1 front-end programs for PostgreSQL ii smarty 2.6.20-1.1 Template engine for PHP Versions of packages serendipity recommends: ii imagemagick 7:6.3.7.9.dfsg1-3~lenny1 image manipulation programs ii php5-gd 5.2.6.dfsg.1-1+lenny2 GD module for php5 ii ttf-dejavu-core 2.25-3 Vera font family derivate with add serendipity suggests no packages. -- debconf information: serendipity/dbconfig-remove: serendipity/dbconfig-reinstall: false serendipity/missing-db-package-error: abort serendipity/pgsql/changeconf: false * serendipity/dbconfig-install: true serendipity/remove-error: abort serendipity/mysql/admin-user: root serendipity/pgsql/manualconf: serendipity/purge: false serendipity/pgsql/no-empty-passwords: * serendipity/pgsql/authmethod-user: ident * serendipity/db/dbname: serendipity * serendipity/pgsql/method: unix socket serendipity/dbconfig-upgrade: true * serendipity/pgsql/authmethod-admin: ident serendipity/internal/skip-preseed: false * serendipity/db/app-user: serendipity serendipity/upgrade-error: abort * serendipity/database-type: pgsql serendipity/remote/port: serendipity/mysql/method: unix socket serendipity/remote/host: * serendipity/pgsql/admin-user: postgres serendipity/internal/reconfiguring: false serendipity/upgrade-backup: true serendipity/remote/newhost: serendipity/db/basepath: serendipity/passwords-do-not-match: serendipity/install-error: abort -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
