Using the following invocation (while logged in on a virtual console) from my workstation, it _won't_ happen: The same one issued locally (whether with or without ssh) will trigger the bug. I don't think I'll investigate any further, but if anybody else ever gets caught by this bug, this information might help debugging the issue.
