I confirm the problem for the current lenny v1.3.1-17: mod_ldap ignores "LDAPSearchScope subtree" directive and always searches with scope=base:
slapd[7556]: conn=525 op=1 SRCH base="cn=persons,cn=centurion" scope=0 deref=0 filter="..." The workaround with "LDAPServer ldap://localhost??sub"; does not help me. Francesco, can you please push v1.3.2 to lenny? Without a fix proftpd simply cannot authenticate with LDAP.
