Package: wnpp Severity: normal With the release of 1.3.2 of proftpd is finally in place prxs and the whole infrastructure for building third-parties modules. I know currently at least about 30 different modules available as non-core and some of them are sometimes requested by users. See http://castaglia.org/proftpd/#Modules for the list of them.
My idea is having new separate packages for add-on modules ready for squeeze and maintained by a little team of weakly connected people, in order to stay in sync with patches, modules and core. Note that proftpd requires generally a good deal of contributed patches to be in shape for the release. A decent knowledge of its various configuration options and inners is mandatory. In order to have an idea of the level of dedication required, prospective helpers can consult the past 12 years of changelog.Debian, then contact me.
