Package: mysql-client-5.0 Version: 5.0.51a-24 Severity: normal I've been having problems using webmin to backup mysql since upgraing to lenny. Finally tracked down the problem to mysqldump not accepting my password when passed using an enviroment variable.
I set MYSQL_PWD to my mysql password. Running mysql connects fine but mysqldump fails with: mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect When running mysqldump with -p option it works fine. I've tried reintalling mysql-client-5.0 but that didn't help. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages mysql-client-5.0 depends on: ii debianutils 2.30 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdbd-mysql-perl 4.007-1 A Perl5 database interface to the ii libdbi-perl 1.605-1 Perl5 database interface by Tim Bu ii libgcc1 1:4.3.2-1.1 GCC support library ii libmysqlclient15off 5.0.51a-24 MySQL database client library ii libncurses5 5.7+20081213-1 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline5 5.2-3.1 GNU readline and history libraries ii libstdc++6 4.3.2-1.1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libwrap0 7.6.q-16 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra ii mysql-common 5.0.51a-24 MySQL database common files ii perl 5.10.0-19 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime Versions of packages mysql-client-5.0 recommends: ii libterm-readkey-perl 2.30-4 A perl module for simple terminal mysql-client-5.0 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
