Hi

You have pinpointed the problem very well.
Please try vnc4server, I think that actually support this.

  Hello,

I've tried vnc4server and yes it works with Gnome, but looking at its
X11 info with xdpyinfo, I've found that it doesn't give an
XKB extension, like tightvncserver... I've tried also to print current
XKB config with « setxkbmap -print », but it tells me there isn't XKB
extension available, so my guesses may not be right...

        Fred.
