Package: audacity Version: 1.3.6-3 Severity: important I cannot start audacity any more. It worked fine a year ago, and I haven't used it since, so I'm not sure when the problem appeared. I tried it on all my Debian machines (tho they all run a pretty similar setup).
The error I get is the following: 1- I type "/usr/bin/audacity" 2- A window flashes (well: my window-manager asks me to place the window, but it disappears as soon as I place it). 3- I get the following message in the xterm from which I started the program: % /usr/bin/audacity The program 'audacity' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)'. (Details: serial 8447 error_code 9 request_code 14 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
