Package: apt-cacher
Version: 1.6.7
Severity: important

After some upgrade on apt-get or apt-cacher, apt-get update fails if
LANG on client is different from the settings on the server.

sipia:~# echo $LANG
en_US.UTF-8
sipia:~# apt-get update

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones
used instead.

If LANG is set to en_US.ISO-8859-15 the module works as expected.
