In my experience, gnome-terminal crashes when I alter the color selections in many different ways. I regularly have a dozen windows instantiated by gnome-terminal. When I make an adjustment in the color scheme and then click the close button to commit the change, ALL the windows disappear, and with them any running programs. Very annoying and not something I have the skill to fully document.
Given some guidence, I would be happy to gather data in accordance with instructions. I have seen it much more than once, but lately ] I have learned to curb my desire to make the text readable to my old eyes. I am running Lenny and have seen it both before and after the release to stable. Hardware is i686. When I restart, the change seems in color setting seems to have been made. I can't say for sure because it happens in the midst of a cycle of trial and refinement in which I start with an egregiously bad (for me) set of color choices. Other terminal programs really don't have color adjustment, IMO. So gnome-terminal is the only game in town. It used to work, and now, not so much. I think I first noticed it in autumn of '08, but I'n not sure. Any way, I'm ready to try anything, within my limited skills, so just ask. -- Paul E Condon pecon...@mesanetworks.net -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
