Symptoms would be a good start. You have said 'crashes under load', I
know, but des this mean 'when it's busy, clamav-milter is no longer
running', or 'when it's busy, clamav-milter is running, but no longer
accepting connections' or something else? Does it just mean that
clmilter_watch restarts clamav-milter fairly often? Thatmay just mean
that the milter isn;t accepting connections because maxthreads is too
low.

Well, from what you have provided, I see no evidence of clamav-milter
having a problem, but I see clamd being restarted fairly frequently.

My first piece of advice is that you have max-threads (both in
clamd.conf and in /e/d/clamav-milter) set very low for a busy system. I
would try upping them to see if that helps.

Also, please keep the bug log in the replies (replying to all or group
reply will take care of this).

HTH, and thanks,
