Package: jirc Version: 0.7-2 Severity: wishlist jirc is missing the ability to send messages directly to other users. Obviously this is outside the scope of the original project, however I feel it's an important part of chat channels(taking extended conversations out of the channel.)
There are a few security points that some users may wish to implement. 1. Only for members of the room/channel. a. !invite feature to enhance this constraint. 2. Only to users on the other network. For my setup I'd need 1 to be disabled, but 2 would be optional. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable') Architecture: powerpc (ppc64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-powerpc64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages jirc depends on: ii libconfig-simple-perl 4.59-3 simple configuration file class ii libfilter-template-perl 1.02-2 Source filter for inline code temp ii libnet-jabber-perl 2.0-3.1 Perl modules for accessing the Jab ii libpoe-component-irc-perl 5.84+dfsg-1 a fully event-driven IRC client mo ii libpoe-component-jabber-perl 2.02-1 A POE Component for communicating ii libpoe-filter-xml-perl 0.33-1 POE Filter for parsing XML ii libxml-stream-perl 1.22-3 Perl module for accessing XML Stre ii perl 5.10.0-19 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction jirc recommends no packages. jirc suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
