I'm seeing this with an HPLJ5L.
The pdf source printed is not in fact raw. It is a graphical rendering of the
pdf source. It's making my poor old printer run out of memory.
I've seen this in syslog:
Feb 24 18:40:14 localhost parport0: prnt/backend/hp.c 571: INFO: status=1000
printing...
Feb 24 18:43:09 localhost parport0: io/hpmud/pp.c 517: compat_write_data
transfer stalled
Feb 24 18:43:09 localhost parport0: io/hpmud/musb.c 1384: unable to write data
hp:/par/HP_LaserJet_5L?device=/dev/parport0: Invalid argument
Feb 24 18:43:09 localhost parport0: prnt/backend/hp.c 595: ERROR: 1014
media-jam-error; will retry in 30 seconds...
Which is all good apart from the "Invalid argument" bit.
The file associations on this machine have been messed up by other recent
updates.

Those Unauthorizeds seem spurious.
The filter errors may be more significant to the problem at hand.
Job 149 was a CUPS printer test page.
Must away.
