I just wiped my etch installation and replaced it with a fresh lenny installation. The installer auto-detected my wifi card and used the rt2500pci driver.
By default it achieves: - 1Mbps rate (as reported by iwconfig - I can only download at max. ~20KBps) - approx "50% link quality" When I manually set it to "rate 11M", the reported bit rate goes to 11M, the real download speed improves by about 50% and the "link quality" goes to about 70%, but it's still a far cry from what the card can achieve.
