Hi, when menu and menu-xdg is installed, .desktop files are generated for all menu files in the system. These are put in /var/lib/menu-xdg/applications/menu-xdg/, which is referenced from /etc/xdg/menus/debian-menu.menu. It seems that matchbox-desktop does not follow the freedesktop.org specification in that point and does not look in /etc/xdg for additinal menus.
