My main Email address starts with mail@ and so I tried to report bugs to
the bts with this address in From: . I never got my bugreports into the
bts and I really tried to figure out, why. Reading all the stuff at
http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting however did not point me to the
issue.
Only recently I discovered, that apparently debian's mailing list
system rejects applications from addresses starting with mail@ -
actually, it complains back and states, it wouldn't accept such
addresses.
So I wondered, if this is the reason, why my mails to the bts did not
make it through - and submitted this bug with another From: header.

I understand the reasoning behind the measure of filtering addresses
mail@ out, but it would be nice, if the bts would sent out a bounce
like the mailing list system - or if the mails sent out by daemons are
just too much to bounce them all, state this filtering practice at
http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting.

Cheers,

Mika
